PORTSMOUTH - TOP - 100

‘Our living heritage. Our shared future’
‘One city. A hundred stories’

Project coming soon

In 2026, Portsmouth celebrates becoming a city.

Portsmouth 100 is a new, community-led project inviting people to identify, share, and celebrate the buildings that shape our city’s identity.

Buildings are more than collection of materials. They hold memory, meaning, and everyday life. Together, they form a collective story that connects generations and communities across Portsmouth.

What is Portsmouth 100?

Portsmouth 100 will grow over time through public nominations, stories, and creative interpretation.

Rather than a fixed list, it will be a living, evolving collection of places that matter to the people who live here.

From well-known landmarks to overlooked everyday spaces, the project will reveal how Portsmouth’s character is embedded in its built fabric — and how these places can continue to shape the city’s future.

Why It Matters

Portsmouth 100 is about belonging.

When people recognise their own stories in the city around them, heritage becomes something shared, valued, and imagined forward.

The project is a self funded, entirely & proudly community-led and  will form part of

Portsmouth’s 2026 city -alternative- celebrations,

with opportunities to explore, contribute, and take part throughout the year for everyone.

Get Involved

Public launch and participation opportunities will be announced soon.
