Warmer homes now: a practical retrofit workshop

Winter Energy Efficiency Workshop
Winter Energy Efficiency Workshop

Twenty-five local residents joined us on Saturday 6 December for a practical workshop exploring how the homes of the future are being created today. Retrofit specialists shared clear, actionable guidance on a wide range of energy-efficiency improvements - from simple, low-cost steps to whole-house approaches – and how these upgrades can reduce bills, improve comfort and cut carbon emissions.

Attendees also heard honest, real-life experiences from Portsmouth residents who have already made changes in their own homes, sharing what worked, what they learned and the benefits they’re now enjoying.

The event was hosted at the Old Pay Office here in Portsmouth Historic Quarter. It gave us an opportunity to show off our new Heritage Skills Craft Training workshop as well as providing plenty of time for questions, conversations and informal networking over refreshments.

This free workshop was delivered in partnership with Portsmouth Climate Action and the Environment Centre (tEC), as part of the My Home Made Better home-energy advice service supported by Portsmouth City Council, with thanks to SCT for generously hosting.
