POSE with City Arts Portsmouth: A Celebration of Creativity and Community

From 25th - 27th October, City Arts Portsmouth will be holding the Portsmouth Open Studios Event, a vibrant celebration of creativity and community. This event marks a significant evolution from the foundation laid by the Created In Portsmouth Open Studios, thanks to the unwavering dedication of the Making Portsmouth team.

City Arts Portsmouth is a partnership organisation that brings together artists, makers, and innovative creative individuals to deliver workshops that benefit the community. Through various funded projects, the organisation aims to help the community build resilience and tackle issues such as loneliness and social isolation, ultimately improving health and wellbeing.

SCT is excited to be taking part in this special event. Our studios at the Pay Office in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard will be open to visitors as part of POSE, offering a unique chance to explore local creativity in a historic setting. A number of talented artists and makers will be participating, providing hands-on workshops, demonstrations, and exhibitions in our shared space.

Event Highlights include:

  • Workshops: Engage in hands-on workshops led by talented artists and makers.

  • Exhibitions: Explore a diverse range of artworks showcasing the creativity of local artists.

  • Community Projects: Learn about ongoing projects aimed at fostering community resilience and wellbeing.

POSE is more than just an art event; it is a testament to the vision and perseverance of the “Created In Portsmouth” team. Their enduring legacy has been instrumental in shaping the artistic identity of the city, and this event stands as a tribute to their contributions.
