Sugar & Spice Portsmouth exhibition

We’re excited to invite you to Sugar & Spice Portsmouth, a playful architectural exhibition that turns familiar Portsmouth buildings into edible-inspired models and sparks a big conversation about heritage, reuse, and the future of our city.

Time & Location

29 Mar 2026, 10:00 – 12 Apr 2026, 16:00

Pitt St. Skatepark, 315 Commercial Rd, Portsmouth PO1 4AY, UK

About the event

Created by young architecture enthusiasts from local schools and the University of

Portsmouth, this joyful project reimagines the city in a way that’s colourful, creative, and

open to everyone — not just architects.

📍 Free exhibition at Pitt Street Skatepark

Portsmouth’s architecture tells a story of movement, people and change. Shaped by the

sea, global trade, and generations of communities, our buildings carry both the visible

fabric of the city and the invisible stories of those who live here.

From concrete high-rises to historic forts, the Sugar & Spice models highlight local

landmarks while encouraging us to look closer at the details — the craftsmanship, the

character, and the history behind them.

But this exhibition is about more than how buildings look.

As you explore the models, we invite you to think about the life inside and around them:

• What happens in these spaces every day?

• How do they bring people together?

• What memories or personal meaning do these places hold for you?

✨ And we want your voice too.

Visitors will be able to vote for their favourite model, so come along, explore the exhibition,

and support the creativity of young designers in our community.

Bring your friends, bring your curiosity — and help us celebrate Portsmouth’s architecture

in the sweetest way possible.
